Had a look at the cool little DJI Spark UAV at both PB Tech and PhotoGear today. As a beginners ‘drone’ it seems quite the package, especially with the dedicated controller device (as opposed to just using a smart phone app to control it). It is referred to as a smart drone. And, it puts out amazing quality 1080p video.

As a complete beginner myself, I’m now debating whether to get one of these instead of the slightly more pricey DJI Mavic Pro – it appears that good. The crux about the Spark may be that it’s considered more of a ‘selfie drone’, best for fun and personal use and not suited for professional applications – it struggles in low light conditions, which the bulkier 4K-producing Mavic seems to be far better suited. Decisions, decisions….
